Here is a quick post from www.mobilemarketing.comon the growing teen of using mobile wallets for purchases. In the early stages people always said no way I wouldn’t trust my funds being accessed via mobile phones. The reality is it’s growing faster than ever. Here is the link
I just thought I’d share it with you so you can start thinking about the opportunities from it.
Three Ways Mobile Marketing Can Work for Your Business
The Changing times and how to adapt to them. There are pro’s and con’s to this text message marketing but you can benefit a great deal if you implement the right strategies. Flipit4u Marketing can get your business in front of the competition and show you just how to increase sales.
When our mobile phones ring, sing or vibrate, they’re all but impossible to ignore. Savvy marketers know this always-on mode of communication is a smart way to send timely, targeted marketing messages. “We can’t say that text messages have a 100 percent open rate, but the numbers are close,” says Joel Comm, a social media expert and the author of KaChing! “Texts have a type of urgency and ‘personal-ness’ that email has lost.” Check out the following scenarios Comm describes to see how mobile marketing might work for your business.
- Invite loyal customers to visit your business at a specific time. For example, a restaurant could send out a text coupon to boost traffic. “Say it’s Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. People are starting to think about lunch. A restaurant owner or manager could send a message that says, ‘Buy one get one free from noon to 2 p.m. today,’ ” Comm says. Because the coupon is in their phones, customers won’t lose or forget it, and business owners can track the response rate.
- Encourage timely repeat purchases by putting customers on a reminder schedule. Comm uses an auto shop as an example: “When your customers get an oil change, ask, ‘How would you like a coupon for $5 off your next oil change?’ To get the coupon they send a text to opt in to your reminder service. Then, in 12 weeks they get a coupon for an oil change for that week only.”
- Increase teleseminar participation by sending a reminder text with the conference number to registrants 15 minutes before the call.
Mobile marketing is direct, and it can be very simple with a service like TextCastLive.com, an auto-responder service for mobile phones, much like AWeber or Constant Contact for email marketing. “Over the next few years we’re going to see a lot of businesses begin to use mobile marketing.
I have implemented this strategy in our local area of Brockton MA, using text message coupons with my advertising business Brockton Deals and Coupons you can check them out and I suggest you give them a try if you are from the local area.

Google acquires Zagat
just a quick mobile post on the acquisition of review site Zagat by the power house Google.
What does this mean to you as a local marketer? Well in my opinion it will give us a leg up on search results. If your marketing for local businesses I would imagine google results will have a little tweak in favor of reviews given through Zagat. Before the latest changes google made when it was a plus to have reviews from the leading review sites and we were able to count on them for a good boost to our search results. Now don’t get me wrong and you should know that reviews alone aren’t going to give you top results but it defiantly helps. Now with google owning a major review site you can bet they are going to make it a part of the algorithm thus increasing your relevancy and helping you stand out on a google search result.
In closing I suggest if you haven’t used Zaget for reviews on your local business, now would be a great time to start! I say it will help those that put it to use. Please leave a comment about your oppinion on this game changer as I see it.
Steps to help your site rank on Google
Please like us on Facebook Click here!
I was just about to post some info that I found on another site about Email terms everyone should know. Then I had a thought about what I have recently learned about blogging or posting to your web site. Google is of course the most used search engine out there today so everyone pretty much plays by there rules to stay in the game. I have learned that if you like to share other stories that someone else has written, you need to either share the link or if you want to have it on your site there are a couple of things to consider.
If you just copy and paste the whole article your readers will get what they are looking for as far as information goes but it will actually hurt your site when it comes to ranking in the search engines. By copying and pasting the whole thing, yes you would be giving credit to the actual author and web site. “I would hope” you do that, because that is just good practice and the right thing to do. But when it comes to Google and it’s algorithm’s it will see your site as a secondary source of information and they actually penalize you for that because your site doesn’t have original content that can be considered relevant. We all know that the new Google algorithm is all about being relevant. So your other option and the best one is like I have done below with the article I intended to share. It is best done if you can write a few sentences about the topic you are referring to and that gives you a chance to write some original material that Google will see
Then post a link directing others to the original post. Wella now you have original content and a chance to get a link back to your site if noticed by the original author as well.

Facebook cuts out Deals program
Just a quick post on a familiar topic.
First I’d like to just tell you how things are on my end at the moment. I live in the NE or southern New England just south of Boston. We were hit with a medium size storm and has knocked out power in most of our city and many others. So I’m posting from my phone and hope it works out ok. If you were affected by the same hurricane I wish you the best and recommend getting to know your neighbors and spending quality time with your family.
Now back to the topic! Facebook has done away with their deal program and I’m going to post a link to the article. I’d like to ad that they still have the check in service and you can still offer savings to your customers for checking in at your place of business. The article is worth the read and re-assures me that the daily deal industry is still and will be very lucrative. Click here for the full story.

Facebook Tip of the week 2
Many people and businesses already know and have a facebook account. But I still see lot’s of businesses that have a facebook account and not a Facebook Page. I’ve discussed this in a previous post in more depth but feel the need to touch on it again as it is a constant issue and if you are one of those businesses that has a personal account set up to be your business, you are losing out!
Facebook is not the solution to end all your business problems but I can say that it has a great impact on your business and getting your business out there for people to see and connect with. What other way could you connect with the people from your community for free non the less, without having to hold a fundraiser or event where people could attend. In the last Tip I suggested that you thank all of your new friends for liking your page. I hope you have tried that and found that people actually listen. Now you need to keep them active and coming back so your business or brand will be on their mind when it comes time for them needing your product or services. There are a few ways to find fresh content. Try using google trends to see what people are talking about as well as Twitter. I recommend having discussions on your business page more often than you post what your business does or sells. Or at least have a fair balance. People don’t want to hear every post when you are trying to sell something or push your services. You will be more effective to just join the community and get involved in discussions. Make sure you log in as your page when you are surfing around and try to comment on other pages that have a topic of interest. These are just a few tips to help you stay in the game and keep your facebook page on people’s mind when they are looking and surfing around on facebook.
This was a quick list of tips I hope you can find useful. I had to rush through it as time is always not on my side. lol
You can find a good example of facebook interaction with one of my other pages called Brockton Deals and Coupons That is a text message coupon business I’ve created and feel it’s a good place to find how to interact with Fans. I will also be using my facebook page for Flipit4u Marketing to interact more often. It’s just a matter of time on my behalf that limits my ability to participate. You can Click those links to get to the facebook pages and take a look. Again any input or comments are welcome here or on facebook. We would love to hear from you.

Facebook Tip of the week
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, it could actually turn your facebook page into a happening place to visit. Everyone in marketing knows the basics of facebook but there are lot’s of businesses out there that just want to be where the action is so they just make a facebook page and hope it brings in more business. Well, There is much much more to it than that and I hope I can help you start making your page a place to visit for your fans.
I manage about 10 business pages on facebook and I still look for new ways to interact with the fans from each page, finding what interests them and keeping them in the loop of what’s going on locally with the business. I’m not gonna make you read a bunch of hype or tactics to get your email address because I can’t stand those methods either. I have and always will be straight forward and to the point so you can hopefully learn something new and put it into practice and get results. So here is my Tip of the week!
When you get new “likes” for your page you will see at the top of the window a red number there are two columns there one is your activity and the other is new likes. The one on the left is the one we are talking about here today. Click on the new likes button so it shows the last 5 or 6 people that have liked your page. You can use your cursor to right click and copy those names as they are shown. Take those and paste them into your status bar. They are going to be formated funny so you will want to take the time to fix the way it looks by seperating the names with a comma and making it in a paragraph style instead of list. Then after you get them in order, write in front of the first name. “Thank you John Smith, Joe Smith, Jane Doe, ect. for liking our page! We appreciate it!”
I’ve been doing this now for a couple weeks and the feedback is amazing. It shows that you or your business has an interest in the people that become your fans. I’ve had so many people come back and say your welcome and it makes them feel special. So there it is.. My first Facebook Tip of the Week. Look forward to more in the weeks to come.
PS: Check out this raffle for a 1963 VW Bus!
My buddy Frank Kern is giving away this awesome old school bus and much more. There is no gimmick it’s completely safe and run through a facebook app on his page. So all you have to do is allow access from Frank to enter the contest. it’s Awesome and I wouldn’t share it if I didn’t know it was the real deal and no bullshit scam to get you to buy something. No cost nothing just a good ole fashion drawing and anyone can win.
Good Luck! and Please leave some feedback here on the post if it helps you out

Major Mobile Trends Show Global Mobile Industry is Now The Fastest Growing Market in The World
Posted: 07 Jul 2011 07:24 AM PDT
According to the newest data issued by Chetan Sharma Consulting on Thursday, the global mobile industry is now the most “vibrant” and “fastest growing industry” on the planet.
“We expect the total revenue in the industry to touch approximately $1.3 Trillion in 2011 with mobile data representing 24% of the mix,” the consultancy revealed today. “Global Mobile Data revenues are expected to eclipse $300 Billion for the first time in 2011. It is also the first year in which non-messaging data revenues will make up the majority of the overall global data revenues at 53%.”
Where there are dollars, of course, there is data – and lots of it. And with Chetan Sharma saying that data is now on pace to make up 95% of global mobile traffic by 2015, current industry growth and revenue streams may drastically pale in comparison to what we will see in the coming years.
And don’t think smartphones won’t play a major role in the anticipated growth.
In Q1 2011 alone, for example, the US became the first major market to exceed the 50% mark in smartphone sales, Chetan Sharma says. The global figure stands at approximately 26%. Some operators expect 90% of their devices sales to be smartphones by the end of the year.
“In terms of the actual smartphone penetration, we expect the US market to eclipse the 50% mark in 2012,” the report reads.
Additionally, the number of mobile operators with more than $1B in data revenues will increase to 47 in 2011. This number was only at 13 in 2005.
Other mobile trends for 2011 include:
Total Global Subscriptions to hit 6 Billion
Total Global Mobile Revenues to represent almost 2% of Global GDP
Mobile Devices are now exceeding traditional computers in unit sales + revenue
Majority of the device sales in the US are now smartphones. Device Replacement is shrinking
Mobile Broadband (4G) is being deployed at a faster rate than previous generations
Global Mobile Apps revenue has shifted to off-deck
All major markets are consolidating with the top 3 players at 85% of the market
Connected device segment is growing at the fastest pace
Several multi-billion dollar opportunity segments are emerging
The value chains will keep disrupting every 12-24 months by the new players and business models
Intellectual Property has become a key component of long-term product strategy
