Twice a week on twitter is in my oppinion not enough. Remember that twitter is more or less a live chat for millions of people and businesses. Always use the rule of what we call 80/20 which means 80% of your tweets or posts are just social meaning you are not self promoting or pitching your product or service. The 20% is for promoting. So to answer your question, with twitter you can tweet mulitple times a day and not be over doing it.
